Cheddar is world famous for its cheese and stunning gorge, but many visitors are unaware of the rich diversity of landscape and walking country we have here. Through the Walkers are Welcome scheme, Cheddar Walking promotes Cheddar as a walker-friendly destination offering a number of walking routes of varying grades, starting from the village centre.

The most popular walks in the Cheddar area are:

Historic Cheddar Village Walk - This is a circular walk and links the centre of the historic village of Cheddar with Cheddar Gorge.

Strawberry Line Walk - A long but gentle walk on the old railway line that cuts through the Mendip Hills from Cheddar to Axbridge and on to Winscombe
