Somerset Illuminated Carnivals

This spectacular annual November event transforms town centres into vibrant displays of light, creativity and entertainment with magnificent parades of elaborately decorated and themed floats, costumed performers and music. Carnival has its roots in the celebrations that followed the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and it now tours eight Somerset towns, starting in Bridgwater and going on to Burnham-on-Sea, Weston-super-Mare, North Petherton, Midsomer Norton, Shepton Mallet, Wells and Glastonbury.
