Ice Age to Cold War – A Guided Walk

Would you like to experience a walk where a distance of just over one mile takes you on a journey through more than a million years of history?

If so, then join our volunteer rangers for a guided walk to learn more about this fascinating and ancient landscape. Along the way, hear about Mendip in the Stone and Bronze ages, visit an Iron Age camp, learn about the late C18 agricultural enclosures, and discover a secret Cold War research station and bunker.

Terrain & accessibility

This is a 3.5 km (2 mile) walk on mainly on level ground (there are some slopes).The ground is rough and uneven in places.  There are no stiles on this route.  We will walk at a gentle pace, with plenty of stops to talk about what we see on the way.
